Introducing the five 9’s – New and improved service level

Introducing the five 9's SLA

At UpCloud, we are proud to announce an exciting update to our service levels. Starting May 1st, 2025, UpCloud services will offer a 99.999% service level agreement (SLA) by default.

You can expect the same outstanding reliability from UpCloud as before, now with even greater transparency and more clearly aligned with industry-leading standards. This change continues our commitment to delivering the highest performance and trust to all our customers.

Why the Change?

In September 2024, we introduced our entry-level Developer plans with 99.99% SLA (“the four 9’s”) to offer more flexibility for development environments that didn’t require maximum uptime. The response was fantastic. Our customers appreciated the ability to choose services tailored to their specific needs.

Building on that success, we’re now standardizing the SLA for all our core services at 99.999% availability. This means more transparency, more flexibility, and more value for you.

No actions needed from customers. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Going forward, you’ll have the flexibility to choose services based on your specific reliability needs, whether building ultra-reliable production environments or cost-effective development solutions.
  • Your contracts remain exactly the same. No action is needed on your part.
  • We are reaffirming our commitment to deliver world-class service.

Looking ahead

This change reflects our long-term strategy of offering better, more specialized services. Expect new offerings with even higher availability for mission-critical workloads and more cost-competitive solutions for lower-priority applications.

At UpCloud, we’re committed to giving you the freedom to innovate, without overpaying for reliability you don’t need, but always with the confidence that when it matters most, we deliver the very best.

Thank you for trusting us with your cloud infrastructure. We can’t wait to show you what’s next.
