Object Storage file manager

April 28, 2025 ·

Say hello to easier bucket access with the new file manager for our Object Storage service. This new feature provides an interface for handling your Object Storage content directly from the UpCloud control panel.

With the file manager, you can:

  • Browse files: Navigate through your storage structure with ease
  • Upload files: Add new content directly from the control panel
  • Create directories: Organise your storage with custom directory structures
  • Delete files: Remove unwanted files individually or in bulk
  • Download files: Access your stored content directly without additional tools

This update simplifies Object Storage management, removing the need for third-party tools or command-line operations for common tasks. The file manager provides a faster way to work with your files be it media assets, backups, or application data.

The file manager is available now for all users and can be found in the UpCloud control panel under the Object Storage buckets tab.

New hardware expands to Frankfurt & Warsaw

April 23, 2025 ·

Following our initial deployment, we're happy to announce that our latest generation of hardware, featuring high-performance AMD EPYC™ Turin processors, is now available for new Cloud Server deployments in our de-fra1 (Frankfurt) and pl-waw1 (Warsaw) data centres.

Experience a significant 30-40% performance boost compared to previous generations on General Purpose and Cloud Native plans in these locations. Check Cloud Server Availability for details and deploy your next-gen server today in Frankfurt or Warsaw!

New hardware with AMD EPYC Turin processors

April 3, 2025 ·

We're excited to announce the deployment of new servers featuring AMD EPYC™ Turin processors in our cloud infrastructure! These cutting-edge processors offer a significant performance boost of 30-40% compared to previous generations, delivering even faster and more efficient computing power for your workloads.

New AMD EPYC Turin hosts feature:

  • Enhanced core architecture: Improved core design for higher instructions per clock and overall performance.
  • Faster memory: Support for faster DDR5 memory, reducing memory latency and improving data access speeds.

Hosts are equipped with AMD EPYC 9575F processors, with a clock speed of 3.3 GHz, delivering improved performance for your applications and workloads, and increased efficiency. Faster processors also mean better cost-efficiency, with the ability to do more with fewer resources.

We're progressively rolling out this generation of hardware across all of our locations. The new hosts are available for new deployments of General Purpose and Cloud Native plans in fi-hel2 and us-chi1 data centres.

Check Cloud Server Availability for details.

Advanced Features for SDN Private Networks

March 5, 2025 ·

New configuration options are available for SDN Private Networks, giving you more control and flexibility over your network setup:

  • Gateway IP: You can now specify a custom gateway IP address for your SDN Private Network. This allows for more advanced network configurations and integration with existing infrastructure.
  • DHCP Control: Enable or disable DHCP on your SDN Private Network. This gives you finer control over IP address assignment for your connected Cloud Servers.
  • Default route via DHCP: Configure whether the default route (0.0.0.0/0) is automatically set via DHCP for Cloud Servers connected to the SDN Private Network. This simplifies network setup and ensures proper routing.
  • Auto-populating routes: SDN Private Networks now automatically learn and populate available routes through DHCP. This makes it easier to manage complex network topologies and ensures efficient routing.
  • Static routes: Define static routes within your SDN Private Network to direct traffic to specific destinations. This allows for more granular control over network traffic flow.

These new settings provide greater flexibility and control over your SDN Private Networks, making it easier to manage complex network configurations and optimize your cloud infrastructure.
