CentOS 7 and Debian 10 templates to be removed
As part of our efforts to ensure our ready-made Cloud Server images are constantly aligned with security standards, we are removing the support for CentOS 7 and Debian 10 from UpCloud, as they have reached their planned end-of-life.
On July 1st, 2024, our API and control panel will no longer offer CentOS 7 or Debian 10 templates for new servers. Existing servers deployed from these templates will remain untouched, although upgrading to a supported version of these operating systems is crucial for the security of your servers. Newer releases of CentOS and Debian are available on UpCloud and we will continue making them available once new versions are released.
UpCloud Managed Kubernetes now available in Private Cloud
Starting today, UpCloud Managed Kubernetes is available on all Private Cloud zones! Kubernetes data plane, or worker nodes, can be deployed into your fleet of Private Cloud hosts, providing enhanced security and control. Read more about Managed Kubernetes in Private Cloud.
UpCloud Crossplane Provider released
With the initial release of UpCloud Crossplane Provider, users can now manage UpCloud resources (such as servers, storage, networks, etc.) directly through Crossplane, using Kubernetes manifests, even across the cloud! This complements our Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tooling by providing a Kubernetes-native way to manage UpCloud resources. Read more about our Crossplane Provider.
Introducing Zero-cost Egress
Starting from today, Zero-cost egress replaces UpCloud's Network Transfer Pool. With this move, egress transfer exceeding the fair amount is no longer automatically charged, alleviating pains from unexpected costs due to unexpected amounts of transfer. Read more about Zero-cost Egress and Network transfer.
