Account removal
UpCloud accounts and their credits are removed after a certain period of inactivity.
The criteria for an account to be considered inactive depend on the account type:

| Account not verified with a valid payment method | Account removed after 1 year |
| Expired trial with no deployed resources No API or login activity | Account removed after 3 years |
| No deployed resources No API or login activity | Credits removed after 3 years Account removed after 5 years |

Removal process
If your account meets the inactivity criteria, an automatic email notification will be sent to the email address associated with your account. The email will
- Inform you that your account has been flagged as inactive.
- Specify a date on which your account and/or credits will be removed.
To prevent removal, simply log in to your account at least once before the specified date. This resets your inactivity timer.
