ClusterCS is a modern way of provisioning and managing deployments from a single server to a cluster of any size. Running a cluster does not get much easier than this!<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/upcloud.com\/media\/clustercs-logo.png\" alt=\"ClusterCS logo\" class=\"wp-image-9159\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ClusterCS provides you with a unified control panel designed for ease of use with tools for just about everything you need to manage your cloud servers and domains. Their focus on optimization and high availability gives your servers an extra boost in speed and reliability. In this guide, we\u2019ll show you how easy it is to get started with ClusterCS and how to deploy your first web server.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/signup.upcloud.com\/\">Test hosting on UpCloud!<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sign up with UpCloud<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First things first, if you have not yet registered on UpCloud,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/signup.upcloud.com\/?promotion=clustercs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">begin by getting signed up<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Deploy a new cloud server<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Deploying a new server on UpCloud is an easy and&nbsp;straightforward process. To get started, log into your UpCloud control panel and select to&nbsp;<a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/hub.upcloud.com\/deploy\" target=\"_blank\">Deploy a Server<\/a>&nbsp;under the Servers section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The deployment page shows a number of options for customizing a new cloud server.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Select the server location from the available data centres<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pick a configuration; the $5 per month plan is a&nbsp;good starting point<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose an OS that is supported by ClusterCS, such as CentOS 7<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add any SSH keys you want to use; we recommend <a href=\"https:\/\/upcloud.com\/global\/docs\/guides\/use-ssh-keys-authentication\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">creating a new one<\/a> for ClusterCS\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Include the public SSH key on your server<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can then use the private key to connect ClusterCS to the server<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Alternatively, select to authenticate with a password<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Give your server a hostname and description<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Deploy!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can find more detailed instructions on server deployment in our <a href=\"https:\/\/upcloud.com\/global\/resources\/tutorials\/deploy-server\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">newcomer\u2019s tutorials<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sign up with ClusterCS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Next, <a href=\"https:\/\/clustercs.com\/user\/register\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">create an account<\/a>&nbsp;on ClusterCS or <a href=\"https:\/\/clustercs.com\/portal\/clientarea\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">log in<\/a> to your control panel. Their free plan includes licenses for 1 server and 5 domains, which are plenty enough to follow along with this guide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you choose to upgrade, make sure to use the discount code&nbsp;<tt>UPCLOUDCCS<\/tt>. It will provide a <a href=\"https:\/\/clustercs.com\/portal\/cart\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/clustercs.com\/portal\/cart\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">10$ discount for every order<\/a> from ClusterCS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you first register, you\u2019ll land in the ClusterCS client area, which lists your available licenses and offers ways to upgrade. Click the <em>Control panel<\/em> button to continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/upcloud.com\/media\/clustercs-client-area-1024x467.png\" alt=\"ClusterCS client area\" class=\"wp-image-9143\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With ClusterCS, you get a feature-rich control panel for your cloud servers. It\u2019s well suited for running single web servers and complex high-availability clusters alike. Any kind of website&nbsp;can benefit from the speed, optimization, and scalability solutions offered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Configuring a Web server<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once logged in, you will be greeted by the simple yet powerful ClusterCS control panel. Here, you can find the options to connect servers, configure clusters, and deploy domains. Click the <em>Add server<\/em> button to begin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/upcloud.com\/media\/clustercs-control-panel.png\" alt=\"ClusterCS control panel\" class=\"wp-image-9144\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the following configuration page, enter your cloud server details as set during server deployment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Server IP as displayed at your <a href=\"https:\/\/hub.upcloud.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UpCloud Control Panel<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use the default SSH port 22 unless you\u2019ve specifically changed it<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter <tt>root<\/tt> as the default user or use your own if configured<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the login type\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Use the SSH key option if included at deployment, copy in your SSH private key, then enter the SSH key password if any<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Alternatively, choose the password authentication and enter the server password instead<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lastly, add a hostname<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once done, click the <em>Next<\/em> button to proceed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/upcloud.com\/media\/clustercs-add-new-server2.png\" alt=\"ClusterCS add new server\" class=\"wp-image-9145\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the following step, ClusterCS will establish a connection with your cloud server and prepare for the setup. Begin configuring the server by clicking the <em>Continue to setup<\/em> button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/upcloud.com\/media\/clustercs-server-connected.png\" alt=\"ClusterCS server connected\" class=\"wp-image-9146\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Next, you will get to choose from the available server setup recipes. To complete the setup, make the following selections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Set a friendly name for your Setup<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Select one of the predefined recipes or choose to customize your options further <\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click the <em>Save<\/em> button to begin the installation process<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then confirm the installation by clicking <em>OK<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/upcloud.com\/media\/clustercs-server-setup.png\" alt=\"ClusterCS server setup\" class=\"wp-image-9147\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ClusterCS will now secure and provision your UpCloud server. You can follow the setup process by clicking the link to view<em> progress<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/upcloud.com\/media\/clustercs-build-in-progress.png\" alt=\"ClusterCS build in progress\" class=\"wp-image-9148\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once the deployment has been completed, you are next able to add domains, SSL, and emails and use the 1-click Installers option to easily install your favourite apps, WordPress, Laravel, Drupal, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Adding a domain<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Using ClusterCS automation helps you in building a reliable hosting platform to achieve faster website speeds and better user experiences. It\u2019s a great way to set up reliable hosts for critical web services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To make use of your newly provisioned and optimized web stack, deploy a domain to test it out. Go to the <em>Domains<\/em> page by clicking the link in the navigation bar, then click the <em>Add Domain<\/em> button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/upcloud.com\/media\/clustercs-add-domain.png\" alt=\"ClusterCS add domain\" class=\"wp-image-9149\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the domain configuration page, fill in the following details.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Enter your desired domain name or subdomain<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Choose a username that will be used to log in via FTP or SSH<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pick the Login Type, select Login disabled and only enable when needed<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keep the default for the rest of the fields, or select the one option available<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the IP address of your cloud server to enable the last two options<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click to select \u2018Enable DNS Management\u2019 if you need to see the DNS records to use for your external DNS provider (optional)<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Check to select the Webland Cluster if you wish to have ClusterCS manage your DNS internally (optional)<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Finally, click the&nbsp;<em>Add<\/em>&nbsp;button to launch the domain<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Note that you will need to configure your domain to point to your server IP at your domain registrar\u2019s portal. Changes to domain records might take a moment to propagate.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/upcloud.com\/media\/clustercs-domain-setup.png\" alt=\"ClusterCS domain setup\" class=\"wp-image-9150\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ClusterCS will then deploy the newly configured domain and set up&nbsp;a default web page. Once the status of your domain shows active it should be reachable using the domain name it was configured with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/upcloud.com\/media\/clustercs-domain-active.png\" alt=\"ClusterCS domain active\" class=\"wp-image-9151\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Open the site in a web browser to test it, or click the domain name to see further options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/upcloud.com\/media\/clustercs_default_index_page-e1560181140936.png\" alt=\"ClusterCS default index page\" class=\"wp-image-9219\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your domain is then ready for you to install an SSL certificate to your domain, add Email accounts, or simply install any of your favourite apps such as WordPress, Drupal, Laravel, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/upcloud.com\/media\/clustercs-domain-management.png\" alt=\"ClusterCS domain management\" class=\"wp-image-9152\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can also test the Development Environments Dev Env feature to clone your production environment for your developer team or staging for QA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Summary<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Congratulations!
