However, not everyone is a server admin and DevOps also need time for the development side. That\u2019s what the cloud management service ServerPilot is here to help you with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With ServerPilot, you can manage all of your servers and sites through a single control panel. ServerPilot automates your server setup and keeps it secure thanks to automatic updates, firewall control, and security-focused architecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/signup.upcloud.com\/\">Test hosting on UpCloud!<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Deploy a new server<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Deploying a new server with UpCloud is an easy and&nbsp;straightforward process. To get started, log into your UpCloud control panel and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/hub.upcloud.com\/deploy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Deploy a server<\/a>&nbsp;under the Servers section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The deployment page shows a number of options for customizing a new cloud server.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Give your server a hostname and description<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the availability zone you wish to use<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pick a configuration, the $5 per month plan is a&nbsp;good starting point<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose the operating system, either Ubuntu 16.04 or 18.04<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add SSH keys if you want<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Deploy!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can find more detailed instructions on server deployment in our <a href=\"https:\/\/upcloud.com\/global\/docs\/guides\/deploy-server\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">newcomer\u2019s tutorials<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Sign up with ServerPilot<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Next, register with ServerPilot if you haven\u2019t yet. By following their&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/serverpilot.io\/?refcode=UPCLOUD10\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">referral link to sign up<\/a>, you\u2019ll get a free $10 at ServerPilot for managing your servers and hosting your apps!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Click the sign-up button on their landing page to start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/upcloud.com\/media\/serverpilot-singup.png\" alt=\"Serverpilot singup\" class=\"wp-image-6161\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then enter your email address and set a password to create an account. Once done, you\u2019ll be greeted by ServerPilot\u2019s easy-to-use management panel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Connecting a server to ServerPilot<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Connecting a cloud server&nbsp;to your ServerPilot account is quick and simple. All you need to do is pass your server\u2019s SSH connection details to ServerPilot, and it will handle the rest. ServerPilot then automates the system installation and configuration by setting up all the necessary software for running your websites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the ServerPilot control panel, click the <em>Connect Server<\/em> button at the top right of the page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/upcloud.com\/media\/serverpilot-1.png\" alt=\"Serverpilot dashboard\" class=\"wp-image-6162\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Connect a Server view will then open. Enter your server\u2019s IP address and root password.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/upcloud.com\/media\/serverpilot-3.png\" alt=\"Connecting server\" class=\"wp-image-6163\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can find the IP address and the generated root password in the email confirming the server deployment or at your <a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/hub.upcloud.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">UpCloud control panel under the server listing<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then click the <em>Connect to ServerPilot<\/em> button to start the setup process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once connected, ServerPilot will install the required software onto your server to allow automated application deployment and software updating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Afterwards, you should change your SSH password for the root user. ServerPilot only uses it this one time to connect your server.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. Create a new app<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the server connected and ready, you are then all set to deploy your first application.&nbsp;ServerPilot makes hosting WordPress, Magento, Laravel, Drupal, and more easy and simple. With just a couple of clicks, you can have a new website up and running.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While in the server details, click the <em>Create App<\/em> button to start a new application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/upcloud.com\/media\/serverpilot-5.png\" alt=\"Create the first app\" class=\"wp-image-6164\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this example, we\u2019ll create a new WordPress site by selecting the WordPress tic box and adding a name, user, password, and email for the first account.
