At UpCloud, we pride ourselves on being a strong advocate for open-source technologies.
With Redis’s recent licensing shift from open-source to a commercially restrictive license, we decided to align with a solution that upholds the core values of open-source development.
This is why we are transitioning to Valkey, a fully open-source project backed by the Linux Foundation. By adopting Valkey, UpCloud ensures continued transparency, community collaboration, and freedom from corporate control in our managed key-value database service.
This move reinforces our commitment to empowering developers with open, flexible, and reliable cloud solutions. Highlighting our continued commitment to open-source, UpCloud customers can continue to benefit from access to the most popular and widely adopted open-source data and AI technologies.
