UpCloud and bunny.net Partner to Power Sovereign Cloud and Edge Services

Posted on 17 March 2026

We’re excited to announce a strategic partnership between UpCloud and bunny.net to deliver a unified sovereign cloud and edge platform for organizations across both the public and private sectors.

By combining UpCloud’s high-performance European cloud platform with bunny.net’s globally distributed edge network, we’re creating a powerful cloud-to-edge ecosystem for deploying, scaling, protecting, and delivering applications worldwide while maintaining European data sovereignty and compliance.

Building a sovereign cloud-to-edge ecosystem

Organizations across Europe increasingly need infrastructure that delivers global performance without giving up control over where their data resides. Our partnership with bunny.net brings together two European technology providers to meet that need.

UpCloud’s sovereign cloud infrastructure will integrate with bunny.net’s global edge platform. Through a European single point-of-purchase environment, enterprises and developers will be able to access both cloud and edge services together.

The result is a unified platform that enables organizations to accelerate and secure applications for a global audience while maintaining responsible data handling and strict compliance.

“We want to give European companies access to the best cloud and edge tooling available without having to make compromises for data sovereignty. Through our partnership with bunny.net, European businesses can access leading cloud and edge services from a single platform.”

Joel Pihlajamaa, CTO and Founder at UpCloud

High-performance cloud meets a global edge platform

At UpCloud, we focus on delivering high-performance, sovereign cloud infrastructure. Headquartered in Finland, we operate independently within EU jurisdiction and maintain rigorous ISO 27001 data standards, ensuring European data sovereignty and protection from extraterritorial access.

Our latest technology partner, bunny.net, is a Slovenia-based global edge platform combining a lightning-fast Content Delivery Network (CDN), robust security, and edge compute capabilities. The platform powers millions of websites worldwide, serving projects ranging from independent developers to some of the world’s leading enterprises.

“True digital sovereignty should never require sacrificing speed or innovation. We are stronger together, uniting two European technology leaders to build a fast, open, and privacy-first internet.”

Dejan Grofelnik-Pelzel, CEO and Founder at bunny.net

Coming to UpCloud Hub and API in summer 2026

bunny.net’s products will be integrated with UpCloud and made available to the first users in summer 2026 through both the API and the UpCloud Hub.

This integration will make it easier for developers and enterprises to combine cloud infrastructure and edge services within a single ecosystem, simplifying how applications are deployed, delivered, and secured while maintaining European sovereignty and compliance.
