UpCloud Tech Day!
UpCloud Tech Day! on May 20th in Helsinki features live demos of AI-powered infrastructure automation, Kubernetes workflows, and local LLMs on GPU infrastructure, with a focus on digital sovereignty.
Automating Infra with AI Agents & GPU Power
Manual infrastructure tasks continue to be a bottleneck for many technical teams, but new methods of automation are changing the workflow.
On Wednesday, May 20th, the UpCloud Helsinki office hosts UpCloud Tech Day!, a session focused on technical execution rather than traditional sales presentations. The event centers on live demonstrations of agent-based workflows, Kubernetes automation, and the deployment of local LLMs within a high-performance GPU environment, specifically addressing the balance between advanced automation, security, and data sovereignty.
Infrastructure Revolution: From AI Agents to Digital Sovereignty
Manual infrastructure tasks often consume disproportionate amounts of development time, but the emergence of AI-driven automation offers a more efficient path forward. On Wednesday, May 20th, UpCloud’s Helsinki office serves as the venue for UpCloud Tech Day!, an afternoon dedicated to the practical application of modern infrastructure tools.
The session begins at 13:00 with coffee and networking, followed by insights from Mikko Riikonen (UpCloud), Tommi Palvimo (Kinetive), and Joni Virtanen (Kinetive). A central feature of the afternoon is a live demonstration by Joni Virtanen, showcasing AI agents as they provision Kubernetes clusters across data centers and manage software distribution to High Availability databases.
The technical deep dive also covers the setup of local Large Language Models (LLMs) on a dedicated GPU stack. These demonstrations highlight the growing importance of digital sovereignty, illustrating why local cloud infrastructure has become a critical requirement for both developers and legal departments facing stricter data regulations. The afternoon concludes with a networking session over bagels and drinks, providing a forum for technical discussion and peer exchange until the event ends at 17:00.
