At UpCloud, our ambition is clear. We aim to build the European cloud provider of choice for businesses that value performance, control, and European operations. This vision requires continuous investment in what matters most to you. We have recently expanded our Nordic footprint with new data centers in Copenhagen and Norway. We are also strengthening our GPU capabilities with models like the NVIDIA L40S and upcoming L4, H100 and B200 options to support AI and machine learning.
As part of this evolution, we are updating our Cloud Server options with two new server tiers that provide more cost effective, focused choices.
Starting on Thursday April 16th 2026, we are introducing two streamlined server tiers:
Starter
Starter plans are designed for development, testing, and self-hosting.
Premium
Premium plans are built for production and business-critical workloads.
Our goal is to make UpCloud easier to choose and better aligned with the needs of modern European businesses. While we are introducing these new plans, we are also sunsetting older offerings. Developer, General Purpose, High CPU, and High Memory plans will no longer be available for new deployments starting today.
We want to reassure customers that existing deployments remain fully supported. There will be no changes to your performance or service level agreements.
Choosing UpCloud means more than just high performance. It means total data sovereignty. We are 100% European owned and operated. This makes our infrastructure immune to the US CLOUD Act. Your data remains under strict EU legal protection and GDPR compliance.
Furthermore, we believe in human expertise. Every UpCloud customer has 24/7 access to real humans rather than automated chatbots.
We are excited to see what you build on this new lineup. These changes will give you the performance and predictability you expect for many years to come.
