Niloufar Viljanen and Annukka Piirala join UpCloud as Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Financial Officer respectively

Niloufar Viljanen and Annukka Piirala have joined the UpCloud leadership team as chief marketing officer (CMO) and chief financial officer (CFO) reporting to our CEO Antti Vilpponen.

Annukka brings a wealth of experience in consulting and auditing and has previous experience from PwC. She holds an accreditation as a Finnish Authorised Public Accountant. Annukka joined most recently from Smartly.io where she held the role as vice president of finance. She was a driving force on the Smartly.io growth journey and was involved and pivotal to the Smartly.io acquisition in 2020.

Reflecting on her new role Annukka says: “UpCloud is in a very interesting stage as a company and is making large investments. With the recent investments into product development that bring added value to customers, we are well positioned to grow fast and support the business expansion.”

Niloufar Viljanen has been appointed to the position of Chief Marketing Officer. She brings more than 20 years of marketing experience to UpCloud. Most recently, she was the head of marketing for Nordics and Baltics for Public Sector at Amazon Web Services (AWS) and worked to launch the AWS Europe (Stockholm) Region. Prior to this Niloufar held various senior roles at Ericsson in both Germany and Sweden, including director of marketing and communication.
