UpCloud’s servers now scale up to 10 CPUs and 64GB of memory

Increasing maximum memory and CPU limits

We are increasing the maximum memory and CPU limits you can configure on UpCloud. Now you can configure servers up to (and including) 10 CPUs and 64GB of memory. You can configure your servers with the new limits through our API and also the Control Panel, as well as on the mobile applications.

With our Flexible plans, you decide yourself how much CPU, memory and block storage your cloud server is allocated. This gives you incredible flexibility and allows you to fully customise your cloud server according to your specific needs.

Configure as much or as little memory as you want

Secondly, we have removed the dependency between CPU and memory -resources. This means you can configure as much or as little memory to your 1 CPU instance – or whatever the configuration might be for that matter.

We hope that with these two updates, you will be able to enjoy and find even more value in UpCloud.

New availability zone in Chicago and the fastest IaaS storage backend

Lastly, we’re going to be opening up a new availability zone in Chicago soon. In addition to this, we’ll be unveiling a new storage backend we’ve been working on for quite some time. According to our benchmarks, it’s the fastest IaaS storage backend available, and you find some benchmark figures in our tweet:

The moment you realise a VM is faster than physical hardware. Would you pay 0.20€ / GB a month for this? ETA June.
