UpCloud Q1 2025 Product Roadmap Update

Posted on 18 February 2025

UpCloud’s product teams are focusing on improving automation, infrastructure flexibility, and seamless integrations this year. Here’s a look at what has already launched in Q1 and what’s coming next…

WHMCS Module Refresh

A major update to our WHMCS integration module is now available 🎉! This refreshed module provides a seamless, automated connection between UpCloud’s cloud platform and WHMCS, one of the leading web hosting management and billing solutions. The update enables more reliable cloud server provisioning and billing automation, improving the overall experience for users who rely on WHMCS for their hosting business.

Cloud Native Plans – The Second Wave

Following the launch of the initial Cloud Native plan tier, additional plans are being introduced to give you more choice and flexibility. These new options cater to a wider range of workloads, ensuring you can align your infrastructure with your specific needs.

Zone-to-zone SDN / VPC Pilot

A new software-defined networking (SDN) capability is being piloted, allowing you to create direct network connections between two data centers or private clouds within those locations ☁️. Once peered, resources including servers and databases can communicate as if they were on the same network using private IP addresses. This update enhances connectivity and performance, along with distributed infrastructure needs.

Pulumi Provider

UpCloud is implementing support for Pulumi, enabling seamless infrastructure provisioning through Pulumi’s infrastructure-as-code framework 👾 . This integration means you can define, deploy, and manage cloud resources using familiar programming languages, rather than traditional configuration files.

UKS (Kubernetes) Automatic Cluster Upgrades

Starting from version 1.30, UKS you’ll be able to upgrade their Kubernetes clusters automatically! No need for manual version updates, we’re reducing maintenance overhead and ensuring clusters remain secure and up-to-date with minimal effort.

DBaaS Dynamic Disk Sizing

A new dynamic disk sizing feature for UpCloud’s Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) will automatically adjust storage capacity based on demand! This ensures efficient resource usage, eliminates the need for manual resizing, and helps you scale your databases more effectively 📈.

What’s Next?

These updates are part of our ongoing effort to improve performance, automation, and ease of use across the UpCloud platform. More enhancements are on the way, and we’ll continue to share updates throughout 2025. For any questions or feedback, reach out to our team.
