Why Partner with UpCloud?
I’ve been passionate about the hosting industry since 2001. Before founding UpCloud, my first company grew to become one of Finland’s largest shared web hosting providers, serving over 30,000 customers. Along the way, I faced the same challenges many of you know well—24/7 on-call responsibilities, solving technical issues, and managing customer inquiries.
At UpCloud, we’ve designed a platform that solves these challenges, offering reliability, scalability, and unparalleled support. We understand the pressures you face because we’ve been there too. Partner with us, and let’s help you focus on growing your business while we handle the rest.
Sincerely, Joel Pihlajamaa CTO, Founder

Our main focus here at Fiare is on providing an easy-to-use and fully managed solution for our customers. Our platform needs to be highly available and capable of handling massive amounts of traffic.
Our customer had been experiencing performance issues for some time with services running on a top 3 global cloud provider. We started researching new providers and kept hearing good things about UpCloud and their MaxIOPS storage backend. So after the initial consultation and testing together with UpCloud’s engineers, we chose to go ahead with the cloud migration and migrated the first fairly large customer. This customer has around 200 requests per second, so we needed to be able to manage a pretty large amount of traffic.
Migrate to UpCloud!
To be on the safe side, we deployed a larger setup than what we believed was necessary as we simply wanted to make sure we wouldn’t run into any unexpected bottlenecks! So we deployed a cluster of front-end servers backed by 3 clustered database servers, each equipped with 128 GB of RAM. After we saw that everything was rolling smoothly, we scaled down to a much better price/performance ratio using UpCloud’s freely scalable servers.
Customer cloud migration was a breeze and was finished ahead of schedule. The entire process from the point we picked up the phone to the point we were in production took barely a couple of weeks. Our response times took a dive from 700ms to below 400ms and could be clearly noticeable by our users.
Our customers are extremely pleased with the improved performance and of course, the lowered costs. We have so far migrated 3 large customer sites to UpCloud and planning to migrate more. Upcloud’s promise of 100% availability and high performance has enabled us at Fiare to make the same promise to our customers, which has naturally been very well received.
