What’s Next for UpCloud: AI, Kubernetes, and Core Performance

Posted on 2 October 2025

This summer, over 660 of you, including CTOs, developers, and entrepreneurs, told us exactly what you want from your cloud in our annual survey.

Your message was clear: you count on our performance and reliability, and you’re ready for a new suite of managed services to accelerate your work. This feedback is invaluable and is directly shaping our upcoming Product roadmap development priorities for Q4 and beyond.

Your feedback is the foundation of our strategy

First, we want to share our appreciation for the positive feedback on our core platform. It confirms we are on the right track and motivates us to keep raising the bar.

MetricYour rating & feedback

Building for tomorrow: Our next development priorities

Based on your feedback, our immediate focus is on foundational upgrades that enhance the performance, reliability, and developer experience you already count on. Here is a look at what we are building.

1. Engineering the GPU Backbone for production AI and Data Services

Many of you are exploring AI and machine learning and require a platform engineered to handle it. To support these intensive workloads, we are upgrading our computing power.

Upcoming developments will include:

When these features launch, you’ll have better access to the raw power your demanding model training and inference workloads require, establishing a powerful platform for data-intensive applications.

2. The bedrock for absolute reliability

To build upon our 4.7/5 reliability score as we scale, we’re strengthening our core infrastructure. Network performance, storage speed, and data durability are at the heart of every reliable cloud platform.

Key enhancements we’re working on include:

  • Zone-to-zone SDN Peering – Securely connect your private networks across different data centers.
  • SDN Firewalls
  • Network File Storage (NFS)
  • Next generation of MaxIOPS

These upgrades bolster the resilience of our infrastructure, giving you peace of mind that your applications will stay online, protected, and recoverable.

3. A smoother developer experience

We also received feedback on making our platform even easier to use. We are working on two key improvements to streamline your workflows.

Two key improvements:

  • LBaaS Log Forwarding to OpenSearch
  • One click installs (Beta) – Deploy complex startup configurations directly from the hub.

4. More power, less complexity

Your feedback highlighted a growing need for more powerful and simplified managed Kubernetes services. We’re responding in the coming months with significant upgrades to our UpCloud Kubernetes Service (UKS).

This quarter, we are releasing:

  • Simplified Managed Kubernetes deployment
  • Managed Kubernetes Autoscaling

The journey ahead

These upcoming upgrades are a direct result of your feedback, strengthening the core of our platform. This is a critical step in our ongoing commitment to building the cloud you need to succeed.

Thank you again for your invaluable input. We are excited about what is to come and look forward to sharing more updates with you. Your insights will continue to guide our innovation!
