No Egress Fees,
No Surprises

At UpCloud, we are redefining the rules of the cloud.

Say goodbye to unpredictable egress costs and hello to our zero egress fee initiative. Unlike other cloud providers, we don’t charge for outbound traffic (‘egress’). This gives you the freedom to distribute your content and scale your business without the constant worry of unexpected bills.

Fair Transfer Policy: Your cloud, your way

Our Fair Transfer Policy ensures all customers have access to a high-quality, low-latency global internet network. This policy protects you and guarantees that no normal business has to think about transfer limits.

We set the bar high—very high—so you can focus on building your business, not counting gigabytes.

With UpCloud, the Fair Transfer Policy is designed to accommodate a vast range of business needs. Only the most intense high network traffic use cases, like video streaming, CDN, or VPN providers, might have to read the transfer terms. For everyone else, our bandwidth allowance is more than enough.

How the Fair Transfer Policy Works

We offer sizeable outbound transfer shares, a fair share more than our competitors. The amount of allotted transfer scales with your cloud spend—so the more services you use, the larger share of transfer you will have.

Even if you exceed your monthly share, don’t worry, there are no excess fees. We will simply notify you of reaching the fair transfer policy and may reduce the bandwidth of your Cloud Servers to 100 Mbps for the rest of the month.

If you believe to require more transfer per month than the Fair Transfer Policy provides, you may opt in to a paid transfer model at €0.01/GB. This affords you completely unlimited egress with no restrictions.

Never ever worry about egress fees.

To put our Fair Transfer Policy into perspective, here are examples of how much transfer you can expect to have at zero-cost.

Cloud spend of €40 per month

Customers spending €40 per month have a 6TB fair share of transfer, which on average translates to:

  • 6 million WordPress pageloads
  • 100 000 hours of audio streaming

Cloud spend of €390 per month

Customers spending €390 per month have enormous 35TB fair share of transfer, which on average translates to:

  • 100 million WordPress pageloads
  • 600 000 hours of audio streaming
  • 35 000 hours of HD video streaming

Cloud spend of €2950 per month

Customers spending €2950 per month have an incredible 400TB fair share of transfer, which on average translates to:

  • 800 million WordPress pageloads
  • 7 million hours of audio streaming

Sky-high fair share

The fair share under Fair Transfer Policy is determined based on service usage. Each created Cloud Server adds to the monthly transfer share according to the following tables.
